I thought this was a great read. Hartstrings is fast paced and kept my attention from start to finish. I was able to connect with the characters and what they experienced through LL Collins’ writing. Tanner is guarded but he has a good heart underneath his play boy act and manwhoring ways. Learning about his past and what he witnessed on a daily basis was really sad. For him to go out of his way to help a stranger when his own life could have been placed in danger was commendable. I felt terrible for what Mackenzie. Just thinking about what she went through everyday, not knowing if the next time would be the last time made my heart ache. It took a lot of strength to walk out of the situation she was in and I loved that she was able to find solace in Tanner. I admired that she was finally able to put herself and her safety first by taking that huge step to make a change. This is just one of those reads that truly pulls at your heart.
