At first it was kind of hard to get into the story. Jules rambles a lot and so I struggled with reading in her POV which made the pace seem slow. It does however get better once you get past the first couple chapters and I ended up really liking her character. I loved the relationship between Jake and his family. The way that he took care of his sister and grandmother was so sweet. I enjoyed the bickering between Jake and Jules. They had an instant connection that wasn’t hard to see. I loved the small yet impactful pieces that linked them. It brought an extra, emotional layer to the story. I loved how they had that similarity with each other. I thought Kim Karr did a great job with this one.
