I always have to mentally prepare myself before starting a book by Rebecca Yarros because she always hits the heartstrings and hits them hard! Great and Precious things was a beautifully written story about a man who is severely misunderstood in his hometown. So much was against Camden but he went to battle and didn’t let up no matter how difficult the obstacles he faced. The things he did for his family was admirable, things not many would have done had they been in his shoes. His character was truly special and I loved everything about him. I also loved Willow. She didn’t let her circumstances define her or her future. She saw what she’d wanted and she went for it. She chose love and happiness even if it did cause those around her to judge her. I loved the way she stood by Cam’s side no matter what he or other did to try to change her mind. She believed in him no matter what. I don’t think I’ve ever hated so many secondary characters in one book before. Goodness, I get my body getting hot every time Xander opened his mouth and not in a good or satisfying way. Rebecca Yarros really draws you into this story and I couldn’t help but love every minute of it even when I was getting aggravated with some of the characters. I can’t wait to read what she comes out with next.
I’m a hopeless romantic and adore all things chocolate, coffee and paleo. No, seriously, I need to have a caffeine IV put in. I’ve adored reading all my life, and writing naturally evolved from my love of late nights and promises of one more page.
