It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.
Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.
It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.
It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.
But we can’t start here.
No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.
Back to the beginning.
Back to the very first drop.
This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.
This was my first time reading Kandi Steiner and honestly, I’ve found a new favorite author! Holy cow this book..I’m freaking speechless. A Love Letter to Whiskey is engaging and was written so well. I could easily connect with the characters and what they were going through. I had a really hard time putting it down. I’ve never read a book with characters that are so aggravating yet I love them all the same. Brecks and Jamie are toxic and I ended up not wanting them together at certain points in the book but at the same time I did. Yet even though they were toxic, they were also perfect for each other. They meshed so well together and their chemistry was undeniable. I didn’t agree with a lot of the decisions they made and I couldn’t help but feel like it was best that they didn’t work things out. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where I’d be happy if the main characters didn’t end up together and still enjoy it as much as I enjoyed this book. This is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2016.
