I was looking forward to the next book in the There’s No Crying in Baseball series and finally George’s story is here! This was definitely a fast paced read. George and Wrigley had quite the whirlwind of a relationship. Things hit top speed for them right from the start. Life wasn’t easy for George and Wrigley though. My heart broke after something unimaginable happened but I loved how they were able to put differences aside to support each other through that hard time. Unfortunately, there were also many factors that got in the way of their relationship. I will never understand how they could let their families treat them the way that they did and neither of them do anything about it. It made them both seem like pushovers, Wrigley especially. On top of that while I thought this was an entertaining read, I didn’t really feel the connection between the two. There was so much we were told about instead of getting to read and experience that it made it hard for me to feel that love between them.
