Fractions of seconds can do lots of damage. One decision can ruin lives. A blink can be tragic. And loving a Hollisterā¦can hurt like hell.
I would know.
They say the average person can hold their breath under water for two full minutes when pushed to the extremes. Will Hollister has been holding his for years. The oldest of two elite swimming brothers, Will was always a dominant force in the water. But in life, he preferred to let his younger brother Evan be the one to shine.
Evan got the girl, and Willā¦he got to bury all of the secrets. A brotherās burden, the weight of it all nearly left him to drown.
The daughter of two Olympians, my path was set the day my fingertips first touched water. My future was as crystal clear as the lane I dominated in the poolāswim hard, win big, love a Hollister.
My life with Evan burned bright. He gave me arms to come home to, and a smile that fooled the world into believing everything was perfect. But it was Will who pushed me. Willā¦who really knew me.
And when all of the pieces fell, it was Will who started to pick them up.
In the end, the only thing that matters are those few precious secondsāand what we decide to do while we still have them in our grasp.
After reading the synopsis, I just knew that I needed to get my hands on this book. This was my first Ginger Scott novel and Iām so glad I took a chance on it. Hold My Breath is heartfelt and engaging. I hated what Will went through. I canāt imagine being in that same situation. He hit rock bottom, he didnāt make the best decisions but I admire how he did his best to turn things around and be a better person. His guilt was truly unwarranted but I loved that he went out of his way to be there for the people who he felt needed him the most. Maddy really grew throughout the book. At first she came off as selfish. She blamed Will for things that were out of his control. I was so happy when she finally opened her eyes to what was in front of her. Finding out the truth wasnāt easy for her but she eventually found her way. Ginger Scott truly pulls at your heartstrings with this book. It was so easy to connect with the characters. I thought she did an amazing job writing this book and I look forward to reading what she releases in the future.
