EVERYTHING CHANGED IN AN INSTANT.
I thought I knew what was important, but one phone call sent my life into a tailspin.
Alone and afraid, I cling to the one man I shouldn’t.
I was warned about him and told to stay away. “He’s dangerous,” they said.
But the man who could hurt me the most, gave me the greatest comfort.
“He’s not who they think,” I told myself.
But just like an illusion, things are never what they seem.
Hands down, this was one of the best books that I’ve read so far this year. Enshrine is gut wrenching, heartfelt, and filled with love and hope. It was more than I imagined it would be. Enshrine is very well written, Chelle Bliss really draws you into Bruno & Callie’s story. This was a very heavy topic and I was grateful for the bits of humor Chelle threw into the story. It made for a great balance that kept me wanting more. I loved how it was broken up into the stages of Callie’s journey. The pace was perfect and there wasn’t a dull moment. I admire Callie’s strength and how she found the will to fight regardless of when she wanted to give up at times. Even though she let her stubborness hold herself back during parts of her journey, I’m glad that she finally gave in to the support that she had all around her. Bruno is definitely the brooding type but I loved his heart. The banter between him and his family was highly entertaining and I couldn’t get enough of it. The connection between Callie and Bruno was undeniable from the very beginning. This was an amazing yet emotional read but I’d highly recommend it.
