Black is dark and filled with angst, heartache, love and pain. It’s fast paced and full of twists. As soon as I thought I knew where the story was headed, I’m thrown in a different direction.

Liam Black is mysterious to say the least. He didn’t have the best life growing up but he made the best of it, doing what he knew how to do best. He has a tough exterior but the way he cares for the people he loves shows that he has a good heart.

I really felt bad for Rose. She was dealt a really bad hand and it just spiraled down to the unthinkable. At the end of the day though she shows her resilience as she fights for those she loves.

TL Smith seriously gut me with this one! She really knows how to tear your heart out then walk away like nothing happened. She really keeps you guessing and I couldn’t believe how this book ended. This might be my absolute favorite book that’s she’s written so far. This book left me completely stunned. Black is unlike anything I’ve read in the past year.

This book pulled me in and had a hold on me all the way through to the end. I found it hard to break away. Be prepared to read this uninterrupted once you begin to lose yourself in the beautifully dark lives of Liam and Rose.
T.L. Smith went above and beyond my expectations for Black. This was written in an alternating POV between Liam and Rose; which gave me the opportunity to connect with both of the characters.

The emotions that were provoked within while I was reading were certainly unexpected. It was nothing short of a whirlwind roller coaster ride from one emotion to another. Throw in a few unexpected twists and you will find yourself in the same state I was in once I finished. T.L. Smith left me speechless. I sat there and stared at my Kindle; in denial that it was over. Followed it up with a hefty book hang over and now I am eagerly awaiting for the next book! Highly recommended!
