I’ve known Evan all my life. Our families farms run parallel with each other. He and my brother Aaron have been best friends for as long as I can remember.
What they’re trying to do is wrong. He needs my help, someone he can trust and I’m more than happy to do it. I volunteered without hesitation.
I should have thought about what it would be like to have our lives intertwined. I should have thought about what would happen when our time together ended and how my heart would feel when I had to walk away.
Life is full of surprises. For Evan, that surprise came when his ex-girlfriend decided she didn’t want to be a mother to their unborn child. After signing over her rights to him, Evan thought the only obstacle in his way would be learning to be a single father, being both parents for his baby girl. Until his ex-girlfriend’s parents try to take his baby away from him.
There’s no place like home. McKinley decided that 4 years in college, away from home, was more than enough for her. She’s finally back on her parent’s farm and she’s ready to start her career. When Evan found himself in a situation that was a bit out of his control, she hopped on the chance to help him out with whatever he needed. Little did she know that her little school-girl crush would feel so different now. That it would mean so much more.
I loved this book! First of all you have a cowboy with a baby. Holy hotness, I’m a sucker when it comes to men and babies. Southern Pleasure is unique, fast paced and an absolute tear-jerker. This is not your typical ‘I fell in love with my best friend’s sister’ type of story. There’s plenty of drama and the banter between the characters is hilarious. Kaylee really draws you into Evan and McKinley’s story. I did not put this book down until I finished it and now all I want is more of these two! This is a story about family whether they are blood related or not, fighting for what you want in life and finding love where you least expect it.
Kaylee
Ryan has had a passion for reading since she was a little girl. That passion
has slowly led to spinning romantic tales, and a one-click addiction. When she
doesn’t have her nose stuck in her kindle or fingers glued to the keyboard, you
can find Kaylee hanging out with friends and family. She loves all genres of
music, and enjoys scrapbooking. She lives in Ohio with her husband (her real life
happily ever after) and their rambunctious little boy.
