My Review:

Warning..this book ends in a cliffy but it’s so worth the read!

I have no words. The Pawn was a great start to a new series by Skye Warren. This book is suspenseful and twisted. Sometimes it’s hard for me to read “entitled” characters because for me they tend to come off so naive that it gets annoying. That wasn’t the case here with Avery. Yes, she’s certainly a bit naive but her loyalty spoke volumes. Even when the people she was loyal too didn’t deserve that loyalty, she did whatever she could to help. If there was ever a character that you both love and hate at the same time, Gabriel is it! I hated some of the decisions he made but I love his mind. He’s smart, calculating and the unknown surrounding him made him a bit mysterious which I found intriguing. The content battle between Avery and Gabriel was electric. I could not put this book down! I can’t wait until book 2 is released.
